so the Punjab University finally threw someone out for plagiarism. but, wait a second. they are not the teachers at the psychology department that were reported a couple of days back for a major intellectual theft. rather a couple of students from an otherwise unknown department of kashmir studies(Kashmiriyat) have been expelled.
it seems like the university is trying to kill two birds with one stone; on the one hand it is showing that it is being tough on plagiarism, on the other it wants to divert people’s attention from the real issue.that is pathetic.
students are mere followers. they follow their teachers’ footsteps. what kind of precedent are the teachers setting?
so the expulsion of the students will not make the reputation of the university any good. in my view, the PU has reached a new low.
